Heavy rains lash Andhra coastal districts as Cyclone Michaung wreaks havoc.
After making landfall on Tuesday afternoon close to Bapatla in Andhra Pradesh, the severe cyclonic storm Michaung unleashed a trail of devastation across at least six coastal districts, severely damaging standing crops and interfering with transportation and communication systems, according to officials.
That must be one hell of a flood for fishes to be swept onto the streets.
— Olakunle Apara (@skiduski) The districts of Chittoor, Nellore, Prakasam, Guntur, Bapatla, and Krishna were battered by extremely heavy rains, and authorities from the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a warning of severe rainfall in the coastal and Rayalaseema regions during the course of the next day. Tuesday afternoons torrential rains also fell in the districts of Konaseema and West Godavari.
